Pearl Jam duels Mars on charts

Pearl Jam create a successful debut on the Canadian album charts, but they couldn't come up with Bruno Mars.

With their 20th anniversary effort "Live On Ten Legs" they went at No. 2,which rung up sales of 4,200 copies, according to Neilsen SoundScan numbers.

To speed past 25-year-old Hawaiian singer Mars it wasn't enough by Pearl Jam.

Last week's top dog, Rihanna's "Loud" (3,600) slipped to No. 3, while Portland’s the Decemberists had the second best premiere of the week with their sixth album, "The King is Dead," at No. 4.

The Black Eyed Peas' "The Beginning" began to slip, dropping two levels to No. 5, The Script's "Science & Faith" checked in at No. 6, and DeadMau5's "4X4=12" shot up seven notches to No. 7.

The rest of the top ten comprised of Mumford & Sons' "Sigh No More" at No. 8, Pink's "Greatest Hits So Far" at No. 9, and the "MuchDance 2011" collection at No. 10.
